stitch pattern.
The "Baby Cover" Baby Cover
— Created by Janice Farrell Pea
Janice seems to be having great fun exploring themes. Having designed several garments using a Faux Entrelac pattern,
she is following the inspiration to design circular baby throws knitted from the center out. The name was inspired by the
name of the yarn she chose for the project: Baby Cover from Laines du Nord.
Rib & Ridge Dishcloth
— Created by Tami Susmilch
Tami designed this dishcloth to maximize texture, combining ribbing and garter ridges.
Faux Entrelac Baby Blanket or Throw
— Created by Janice Farrell Pea
Janice has been on a faux entrelac kick recently. Prior to this project, she designed a
Faux Entrelac Wrap. Sized at 48" by 48", this
baby blanket works equally well as a throw.
Faux Entrelac Wrap
— Created by Janice Farrell Pea
Janice wanted a wrap with the look of woven bands typical of entrelac knitting but without picking up stitches for every band
of woven blocks. Thus, she turned to Faux Entrelac, in which blocks of stockinette stitch and garter stitch are alternated
to create the look of entrelac without the fuss. The wrap is knit on the diagonal, from one corner to the opposite corner, furthering
the woven look of entrelac.

Large Mitered Square Felted Bag

Fingerless Mitts
— Created by Diane Pyle
These fingerless mitts can be knit from any DK or sport weight yarn. Matthew was so inspired by the pattern that he wrote a variation that
is included in the pattern. Diane's pair were knit from Knitcol Trends from Adriafil (superwash wool), and Matthew's pair were knit from Hacho
by Mirasol.
Dahlia Baby Blanket
— Created by Janice Farrell Pea
Janice bought this yarn entirely on impulse. On a visit to Needleworks, in Champaign, IL, she sat down to knit a bit and noticed a skein
of this colorway was sitting on the table. It belonged in a bin on the up-stairs level of the shop. She decided to return it to its proper
place, where she found five of its siblings. They were so pretty, she took them all home. They told her they wanted to be a baby blanket.
Perhaps someday, she will have a grandchild to knit for, and now she has a head start.
Her knowledge of flowers is limited. She can tell a rose, from a tulip, from a daisy – but that’s about it. Kate Winkler, however,
identified the center flower as a dahlia, inspiring the name for this wonderful baby blanket.
