Picture Gallery — Shawls — 2006
Diane knit this glorious purple & red shawl for Janice for her birthday, being very careful to make sure the stripes run the good way and not the evil direction.
Sherri knit this stash-busting triangular shawl from Janice's tried and true pattern (available here).
Janice knit this glorious green shawl using her wonderful, free pattern (available here). We also sell stunning shawl pins, like the one Janice picked out for this shawl.
Mary knit her gorgeous capelet using subtle and elegant colors of Louisa Harding yarn. The pattern is in one of Louisa's first books.
Janice knit this dramatic stole from several Noro yarns, including two colorways of Blossom. There are three triangles and two parallelograms, making this stole an exercise in geometry, to say nothing of glorious colors and rich textures. Janice is planning on writing up the pattern at some point, and we'll keep you posted.
Tina knit this gorgeous Triangular Shawl for her cruise to Alaska (see our free pattern).
Helen knit this shawl largely from yarns in our sale bin, selecting yarns and colors that are just a little bit outside her normal color & texture range, which is why she calls her shawl, "Beyond The Comfort Zone".
Rose knit the latest of our Triangular shawls (see our free pattern). The shawl started out as a "Stash Buster" project, and she did manage to use some left-over yarn, but she also added just a little bit of new yarn for a completely stunning shawl.
Adrienne used a selection of Louisa Harding yarns to knit this Triangular Shawl (see our free pattern).
The pictures above show the Feather & Fan Shawl (designed by Eugen Buegler, in A Gathering of Lace) being blocked on a PVC pipe frame. The shawl will be misted with cool water and steamed several times before being dried thoroughly. The shawl, by the way, was knit by Matthew as part of Shawl-a-palooza for Sharon's birthday.
The following pictures show the shawl after coming off the blocking frame when Matthew gave it to Sharon.
The theme for Sharon's birthday this year was "Shawl-a-palooza". Of course, there are several more shawls that are still in progress, so I'll update this entry as needed. The latest two shawls were knit by Ray (the Orange & Blue shawl) and Tami (the red & white striped stole with ruffles); and the boat-neck short-sleeved sweater was knit by Heidi.
Heidi knit this marvelous white lace stole. One of the pictures shows off the gorgeous new shawl pins that just came in earlier this month.
This shawl is one of the latest to have been inspired by the many such triangular, multi-colored shawls Janice is famous for. This one was knit by Heidi.
Kate knit a glorious stole, with beaded fringe, using 4 skeins of Dream from Takhi. The pattern is called "An Evening in Eden" from Cabin Fever.
Kate knit this fantastic and gorgeous shawl from an intriguing and wonderful pattern, Sheer One-Piece Shawl designed by Iris Schreier. Kate knit it in 9 hours because the ingenious construction was addicting.
Janice wanted to use up the leftovers from a previous shawl worked in many shades of green (which is pictured in the entry below), but then she had to buy a couple additional skeins to knit this shawl, but now she has leftovers from this project. Perhaps we should call the shawl, Stone Soup. Thanks to Nikki for her modeling talent (and for wearing green by accident).
Janice knit this "Eudora" capelet from the Viva Poncho Book (see the errata online for corrections to the pattern). Janice knit her capelet from Tahki's Donegal Tweed.
