Picture Gallery — Shawls — 2005
Matthew knit the Stash-Buster Shawl that Janice created, although to be honest, he did not use any stash yarns — all the yarns in this shawl were purchased for the project (actually adding their leftovers to his stash). His sister was thrilled to get the shawl this year at the holidays, whether it busted his stash or not.
Matthew designed this shawl and donated the original model to the Art Against AIDS sale last year. He knit a burgundy version for his mother-in-law, and Nikki test-knitted the pattern in the blue version. The pattern is now available for sale at Needleworks.
Tami is as lovely as ever showing off the Jamieson Shetland Wool Stole that Janice knit with her signature ruffled edge.
It's hard to believe that it only took 5 skeins of Koigu (one in each of 5 colorways) to knit this large shawl, but that is partly due to blocking the heck out of it (see the assorted gallery for pictures of the blocking in action).
