Saturday seemed to be sock day at Needleworks: nearly everyone had on a pair of socks, hard some recently completed socks with them,
or had a pair near completion.
Ray knit this pair of pink and red clogs for his niece and added some eyelash on the cuffs for dramatic effect!
Matthew knit these socks out of "Anne" from Schaeffer, which is a sumptuous sock yarn with some mohair blended in for that incredible sheen.
Matthew knit these socks for Robert for his birthday. He also dyed the Lorna's Laces sock yarn in colors just for Robert. For the record,
the socks fit Robert perfectly -- he has freakishly short feet, which is one reason why he loves the hand-knit socks so much.
Roger is quite lucky indeed to have Nikki knitting him socks to match his green sweater.
Matthew knit these socks for Grant for Christmas in 2004. The yarn is really one of the nicest sock yarns; it's "Anne" from
Schaeffer and includes both wool and mohair in addition to the nylon, giving a fantastic luster and sheen to the deep, rich colors
you've come to expect (and love) from Schaeffer.
I knit these clogs for my nearly seven year-old nephew at his request when the ones I knit two years ago were beyond fitting. He said, "
These slippers say Christmas every time I put them on my feet.".
I about had a heart attack when my sister measured my niece's feet for a new pair of clogs -- she's into the Women's MEDIUM now, instead of the
middle kids size.
Leigh knit these Christmas Stockings.
Kate used some odds and ends from various projects to create socks
that she calls "Happy Feet." Happy indeed!
Matthew knit these socks out of Kaleidoscope yarn from Brown Sheep,
which is a blend of cotton (80%) and wool (20%).
Matthew knit these socks out of Manmosu from Noro, which is a blend
of wool, alpaca, and silk. Unfortunately, Noro has discontinued this
yarn. Keep your eyes on ebay!
Matthew knit these felted clogs out of Charisma from Manukah Wools.
The space-dyed yarn works up beautifully with glorious color diffusions
from the felted process and from two strands of yarn being held together
in the knitting. Check out the
making felted clogs page to see the
transformation of felting clogs! Unfortunately, Plymouth decided not to import this
wonderful yarn from down under any longer. Anyone headed that way should pick some
up if the opportunity presents itself.
Jenn made some spectacular clogs, also out of Charisma.
Matthew made these clogs for Grant. The yarn is Cascade 220.
